Before I start, a quick disclaimer: Bots/robots in recruitment are not there to stop you or be fooled! The most desired jobs, like Product Managers, get hundreds of applicants. To prevent the situation where the recruiter can spend 0.5s on every resume, the bots are used to filter out the most promising ones! Thus, there is fear among the candidates that they will fail due to (incorrect) bot filtering. Here is where I come in to help you understand and leverage the system โ not fool it, really. It makes no sense to โbeat the botโ just to be rejected by flesh and blood. So, here we go:
1) ๐๏ธ Use a resume template generator โ those are well-adjusted to being easily read by bots, so no details will be missed when analysing your resume. I used KickResume for my CV!
2) ๐ Identify keywords important for your position and add them to your resume โ for Product managers, it would be a roadmap, backlog, a/b testing, data analysis, leadership, and goal/metric setting. Bots in the recruitment software might be looking for them! Of course, add those if you had such exposure.
