Should User Research Be Left at the Mercy of AI?
User research is something that can take forever. Will AI Agents replace this Product duty soon? Well…
Microsoft’s Satya Nadella envisions a future where AI agents replace traditional software interfaces by automating tasks, executing workflows, and eliminating the need for dashboards and SaaS tools.
I’ve taken this thesis and explored it for User Research in Product Management
Imagine this: instead of interviews, surveys, and usability tests, an AI agent gathers insights, analyzes feedback, and delivers user personas: all without human intervention. Sounds futuristic, right?
Well, we’re already seeing glimpses of this with AI tools that automate data collection, sentiment analysis, and behavioral insights.
But can they truly replace human researchers?
In my latest article, I dive into:
• What AI agents can (and can’t) do in user research
• Why human intuition still plays a critical role
• The risks of relying too much on AI-driven insights
• How AI and researchers can work together for better results
